Why the Kristineberg Marine Biological Station ?
Where is the Kristineberg Marine Biological Station ?
Kristineberg is one of the oldest marine stations for education and research in the world [1], providing quick access to test facilities, advanced equipment including research vessels, diverse biomarine environments, and complementary research topics of interest to the iFOODIS project partners.
The Kristineberg Marine Station is located about 60 km North of Gothenburg near the small picturesque city of Fiskebäckskil. The address is - Kristineberg Center, 450 34 Fiskebäckskil, Sweden. And here is a 3D / VR tour (mostly Swedish) of the Kristineberg Station - https://gu.view360.se/tour/#kristineberg

Many different options to and from Gothenburg
Limited financial support
The participants will stay at the Kristenberg Center for the duration of the summerschool, All meals (breakfast, lunch, & dinner) will be provided.
Food will be organised for the Summer School participants at the Kristineberg Center restaurant - Mässen. Most local restaurants and shops are some distance away, with the closest shop "Tempo" ~ 1km walk or the village of Fiskebäckskil or Lysekil on the other side of the fjord, just a short ferry ride away.
Accommodation for the Summer School participants will be provided at the Kristineberg station - there are a variety of rooms (single, double and triple) with bathrooms and shared shower facilities in the "Summer Laboratory" or above the restaurant "Mässen".
There are many ways to get to the Kristineberg Station - all the ways would take you through Gothenburg.

This summer school is funded by the iFOODis project. Additional funding is provided in terms of institutional support, and collaboration with partner institutes. The basic funding that is covered is the Kristineberg Center Lab Bench fees, access to research ship time, local guest lectures, social activities and equipment, infrastructure and workshop facilities.
There is limited funding support available. In total about 25 participants and 10 instructors/lecturers are foreseen for this summer school. For the instructors/lecturers in addition to the "basic" funding, food and accommodation costs will be also be supported.
Please get in touch with the organizers below, either contacting them directly or using the contact form (below). There are always "creative" ways of finding support and funding, if you are really interested to join the summer school. MUDS participants (Munich School for Data Sciences), a partner of iFOODIS, should contact our iFOODIS MUDS representation Prof. Trieble (@dlr).
